“A Marvellous Work and a Wonder”
Many of these Isaiah chapters tie directly to the Book of Mormon in 2nd Nephi where they are copied from the Brass Plates. These first verses discuss the very real tie of Isaiah’s prophecy of there being a book that would come forth and a sealed part that could not be read by learned men. There will be a marvelous work and a wonder of bringing this information forth through the Lord’s called servants. The Book of Mormon is the fulfullment of these prophesies mentioned both in the Bible in Isaiah, and again in more detail in the Book of Mormon itself.
Isaiah references building upon a foundation stone, a tried and sure and trusted foundation, similar to Halaman’s reminder to his sons that they must build their foundations on Christ to be able to withstand all the storms of the adversary. When Christ is the foundation, we are sure and steadfast.
